Forward
- We, the
staff of "The
- Mesquite-O,"
attempt to give
- you a
record in picture and prose
- of the
many activities which
- take
place in and around our
- campus.
It is our sole purpose
- and aim
to place emphasis
- that the
activities will be
- remembered
through the years.
- Since the
world is in such
- turmoil
and our classmates are
- constantly
being taken into
- service,
we hope that this book
- will help
bring back the memories
- of their
school days of 1944-'45.

- To Florence Virginia Black
- Throughout the years you have
been
- A loyal friend to youth;
- You've sought to plant within the
mind
- Great principles of
Truth.
-
- And by example of your
life
- Standing for Right each
day,
- Many have followed in your
steps
- And found a better way.
-
- You never were too busy
- A cheerful word to speak,
- Nor give your help to those who
came
- Guidance from you to
seek.
-
- To you this annual we
dedicate
- And by this act we say,
- "We Love You for your
nobleness
- And understanding way."
