We, the staff of "The
Mesquite-O," attempt to give
you a record in picture and prose
of the many activities which
take place in and around our
campus. It is our sole purpose
and aim to place emphasis
that the activities will be
remembered through the years.
Since the world is in such
turmoil and our classmates are
constantly being taken into
service, we hope that this book
will help bring back the memories
of their school days of 1944-'45.

The Editor
To Florence Virginia Black

Throughout the years you have been
A loyal friend to youth;
You've sought to plant within the mind
Great principles of Truth.

And by example of your life
Standing for Right each day,
Many have followed in your steps
And found a better way.

You never were too busy
A cheerful word to speak,
Nor give your help to those who came
Guidance from you to seek.

To you this annual we dedicate
And by this act we say,
"We Love You for your nobleness
And understanding way."
