This is the
actual year book that was presented to Miss Florence Black in
1945.

I came into possession of
it as a Boy Scout some thirty-five years ago. While loading
newspapers for a paper drive we came upon it in the shed
where people dropped off their newspapers. Regrettably this
is not all that was left there. Apparently upon her death
there were no relatives who considered the many black and
white photos of her travels and experiences worth keeping,
if there were any relatives to inherit her memories. May the
future forgive us our lack of care in preserving their
history. Reading the words written by her students gives us
a hint of the extent of our own loss. (Florence Black died
May 26, 1967.)
